About Me

My approach to instructional design has been shaped by a unique blend of experiences in program development, community engagement, and the performing arts.

Throughout my career, I have designed educational programs, developed curriculum, and led community learning initiatives that brought together learners of different ages and backgrounds around a shared purpose. These experiences strengthened my ability to think strategically about learner needs, program outcomes, stakeholder collaboration, and meaningful engagement.

As a classical violinist, I also developed an appreciation for deliberate practice, breaking complex skills into manageable steps, and helping learners build confidence through consistent progress.

Together, these experiences continue to shape the way I design learning and reinforce my belief that thoughtful learning experiences can strengthen organizations, empower individuals, and support meaningful, mission-driven work.

My Design Philosophy
I believe effective instructional design begins with understanding the problem before designing the solution. Every project starts with asking the right questions, identifying desired performance outcomes, and collaborating with stakeholders to understand learner and organizational needs. Whether the solution is training, performance support, or a combination of both, my goal is to create learning experiences that are practical, engaging, and focused on improving performance.

What I Enjoy
I enjoy partnering with subject matter experts and stakeholders to design learning experiences that solve real challenges and support organizational goals. From needs analysis and storyboarding to visual design, development, and evaluation, I appreciate every stage of the design process. I especially enjoy creating learning that is clear, engaging, and empowers learners to confidently apply new skills.

Applied Instructional Design Academy Certification

Applied Instructional Design Certification

This certification is the culmination of a 9-month program called Applied Instructional Design Academy. It is earned after completing the ID Fundamentals, Rise, Storyline, eLearning Development, and Instructional Design Process badges. Earners complete 400+ lessons, receive extensive coaching, and complete a rigorous set of learning activities with practice, feedback, multiple revisions, and the completion of simulated client projects. Earners create a portfolio that must pass certain criteria.
